Chelsea have taken top spot in the English Premier League table, after beating West Brom 1-nil

Diego Costa's late strike helped move the Blues 3 points above Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's title challenge continued to falter after they were held to a 2-all draw at home by West Ham.

The Reds are 3rd in the table, 6 points behind Chelsea, while the Hammers are a point above the relegation zone.

Over at Old Trafford, Manchester United pipped 5th-placed Tottenham 1-nil to lie 6 points off Champions League qualification.

Henrikh Mkhitarian scored the winner, before he was stretchered off with an ankle injury.

And Southampton beat Middlesbrough 1-nil
