Spain, Portugal advance to the last-16

Portugal have booked their spot in the last-16 after drawing 1-1 with Iran.

The Portuguese took the early lead, thanks to Ricardo Quaresma's first-half goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo could have doubled Portugal's scoreline early in the second half, but his penalty was saved by Iran's goalkeeper.

Iran were then awarded a late penalty of their own, following intervention from VAR - which they converted.

Portugal end the group stage as runners-up in Group B, behind Spain

The Spaniards came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Morocco.

Spanish substitute Iago Aspas scored the equalizer in stoppage time.

Over in Group A, Uruguay beat hosts Russia 3-0 thanks to Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani and a Russian own goal.

This means Uruguay won the group, 3 points ahead of Russia.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia ended their campaign with a 2-1 win over Egypt.

Uruguay will next face Portugal in the last-16, while Russia take on Spain.
