Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed Paul Pogba as the best midfielder in the world, following his return from a long injury lay-off.

Pogba was in action for United for the first time since late September as a substitute in their crushing 2-0 defeat at Watford on Sunday.

But Solskjaer was happy with his impact and is looking forward to having him back in the team.

Pogba could be in the starting team for their Premier League match against Newcastle on Friday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to miss Liverpool’s final two matches this year, after sustaining an ankle ligament injury.

The England midfielder was forced off during their 1-nil victory against Flamengo in the Club World Cup final at the weekend.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp says Oxlade-Chamberlain will not be in contention for the fixtures with Leicester and Wolverhampton.

Tottenham have failed with their appeal against Son Heung-Min's red card received in their 2-nil defeat to Chelsea earlier this week.

The South Korean was dismissed in the second half of the match, when VAR showed him kicking out at Blues defender Antonio Rudiger in retaliation to being fouled.

The Spurs forward will miss their next three matches against Brighton, Norwich, and Southampton over the festive period.
