Jun 13, 2016
Bastian Schweinsteiger has scored his first international goal in 5 years, after coming off the bench to score in Germany's 2-0 win over Ukraine in their Group C opener.
The Manchester United midfielder hasn't played club football since March following a knee injury, but sneaked into Joachim Löw's team and proved his worth.
The world champs took the lead when Shkodran Mustafi scored his first goal for Germany.
Meanwhile, Group C rivals, Poland, have claimed their first ever win at the European Championship, after a 1-0 win over Northern Ireland, who were making their first appearance in a European Championship match.
The Germans will next face the Poles, who beat them in qualifying for Euro 2016.
And Luka Modric struck a stunning volley to give Croatia a 1-0 win over Turkey in their Group D opener in France.
