SUKMA is postponed!

SUKMA 2020 has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
The Youth and Sports Minister says a new date hasn't decided yet, but it could be held in either December this year, or in 2021.
Separately, the minister also welcomed the IOC's decision to postpone the Tokyo Olympics to next year.
The ministry, together with the Olympic Council of Malaysia will work together to study the implications of the postponement to athletes.

Meanwhile, Malaysian athletes have welcomed Tokyo Olympics' postponement.
Men's singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia called it a good move, saying it will give athletes more time to prepare.
The World No. 10 told us that during the current Movement Control Order, he's limited to doing fitness exercises, as he can't train at the badminton court.
Track cycling ace Azizulhasni Awang also says that the postponement will help him better prepare for the Games.

There could be a pileup of international sporting fixtures in 2022, due to the decision to stage the Tokyo Olympics next year.
It means the 2021 World Athletics Championships, and World Swimming Championships could both slip to 2022.
This will clash with the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, which insists that it WILL go on as scheduled.
