Ronaldo nets a hat-trick in six-goal thriller
Jun 16, 2018
Cristiano Ronaldo netted a hattrick as Portugal and Spain played to a 3-3 draw in their Group B opener.
Diego Costa netted a brace, while Nacho scored the other for the Spaniards, who were playing their first match since the sudden sacking of head coach Julen Lopetegui.
Elsewhere in Group B, Iran won their first match at the finals since 1998, with a 1-0 victory over Morocco thanks to an injury-time own-goal.
And in Group A, Uruguay snatched a late 1-nil win over Egypt, thanks to an 89th minute goal by Jose Gimenez.
Egypt's Mo Salah - who was named in the squad after returning from a shoulder injury - was an unused substitute.
