Manchester City are just behind, as Sergio Aguero's goal was enough to give them a 1-nil win over Sunderland.
Manchester United comfortably beat Stoke 3-nil to stay 5th, behind London clubs Tottenham and Arsenal.
This, as Tottenham won 3-nil against Norwich to move to 3rd ahead of Arsenal, who drew nil-nil with Southampton.
Bournemouth won 2-1 away at Crystal Palace,
West Brom snatched a late 1-all draw with Swansea.
And West Ham beat rock-bottom Aston Villa 2-nil.
