Pep Guardiola escapes disciplinary action for referee comments

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will face no action from the English FA, for his actions during City's Premiership defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

City had two penalty appeals for handball turned down, and Guardiola appeared visibly upset.

After the match, Guardiola was seen thanking the referees in a seemingly sarcastic manner, but the Spaniard insists he was genuine, and that he does that for every match.

Neil Warnock resigns as Cardiff City boss

Cardiff City have announced manager Neil Warnock has left his position by mutual consent, and with immediate effect.

The Welsh club have struggled on their return to the Championship, and find themselves in 14th position, after winning just five of their opening 16 games this season.

Rafael Nadal opens ATP Finals campaign with defeat

Rafael Nadal's bid to end the year as world number one is in doubt, following a straight-set loss to defending champion Alexander Zverev at the ATP Finals group stage.

Novak Djokovic, who could overtake Nadal at the top of the world rankings this week, leads the other group after winning on Sunday.

Another tie last night saw Greek youngster Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Russia's Daniil Medvedev.
