Pandelela Rinong is in a confident mood

Aug 09, 2016

National diving queen, Pandelela Rinong is in a confident mood ahead of the Women's Synchronised 10m Platform event at the Rio Olympcs in Brazil.

Pandelela will compete with Cheong Jun Hoong, and says she doesn't see any reason why they shouldn't be considered medal contenders.

She adds that personally, she has gained experience from her stint in the 2012 London Olympics and they are both better prepared to stake a place on the podium.

The 10m women's synchro event also features world number one Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia from China, while the North Koreans are tipped for silver.

Malaysia, Canada and Mexico are expected to battle for the bronze.
