Nicol survives scare in Hong Kong

Aug 25, 2016

Datuk Nicol David has survived a scare, after coming close to losing her record of 55 consecutive match wins and 11 tournaments, in Hong Kong.

The Malaysian number one gave up her lead twice against Welsh qualifier Tesni Evans, but dug deep to win the deciding set 11-5 for a second round meeting with Joelle King.

However, Low Wee Wern was beaten by Alison Waters in her first round match.
