National shuttler says he broke curfew

Aug 08, 2017

National shuttler Goh Soon Huat has revealed that he's one of the SEA Games athletes who broke curfew.

However, he says he only stepped out of the hotel lobby, to meet a friend who wanted to collect something from him.

An athlete from the futsal squad had also broke curfew by leaving the national contingent's official accomodation after 11.30pm.

This, as SEA Games Chef-de-mission Datuk Marina Chin is still waiting for an official report on the incidents.

She says first time offenders usually get off with a warning, but severe disciplinary action will be taken for repeat offenders.

Separately, national sprint athlete S Komalam Sally has been dropped from the 4x100 meters squad for the SEA Games.

According to Harian Metro, it's because of disciplinary problems.

Komalam is one of the atheletes who broke the national record for the women's 4x100 meters in Bangkok this June.
