Man City's Gundogan, Guardiola bag Premier League January honours

Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been named Premier League Player of the Month for January after scoring 5 goals and helping the club take control in the title race.

He beat teammate John Stones, Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, Leicester City's James Maddison and four others to the award.

Meanwhile, City boss Pep Guardiola picked up the award for Manager of the Month after he led his side to 6 successive league wins last month.

Man City’s Sergio Aguero, who had missed 11 games for Covid-19 related reasons, could be available for their Premiership clash against Tottenham early tomorrow morning.

Ruben Dias and Rodrigo are expected to recover in time from illness and injury respectively but Fernandinho will miss out with a thigh problem.

As for Spurs, Harry Kane is expected to return to the starting eleven after his substitute appearance at Everton in midweek, while Gareth Bale needs to be assessed.
