Liverpool fans exonerated from blame in Hilsborough tragedy

Apr 27, 2016

Liverpool fans have been exonerated from blame in the Hilsborough tragedy, that claimed 96 lives 27 years ago.

The jury of a 2-year long inquest concluded that Liverpool fans were not to blame in any way and former cop David Duckenfield was "responsible for manslaughter by gross negligence."

96 supporters were killed in an overcrowded stadium during the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.

British Prime Minister, David Cameron, called it a "landmark day" and said the inquests "provide long overdue justice".
