Liverpool and Manchester United showdown ends goalless

Oct 18, 2016

Liverpool's Premier League showdown with Manchester United ended goalless for the first time since September 2005, that's a run that spanned 27 fixtures between the teams.

United keeper David De Gea made a couple of great saves to earn his side a point at Anfield, while Daniel Sturridge made his 100th Liverpool appearance but wasn't effective as he made way for Adam Lallana, who returned to action following a groin injury.

It is also Liverpool's first goalless draw at home in the Premiership in 33 games.

Liverpool remained 4th, 2 points behind leaders Manchester City, while United are 7th, 3 points adrift the top 4.
