Liverpool and Barcelona reach Champions League quarters

For the first time in a decade, there are four Premierhip teams in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. 

This, as Liverpool beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in the second leg of the last-16 this morning, after the first leg had ended goalless.

The Reds join Tottenham, Man City and Man United in the last-8 of the competition.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have reached the quarters for the 12th consecutive year, after thrashing French side Lyon 5-1 this morning and on aggregate.

Lionel Messi scored twice, while Philippe Coutinho, Gerard Pique and Ousmane Dembele also found the back of the net.

OCM to propose bid to host 2030 Asian Games

The Olympic Council of Malaysia will table a proposal to the government, to make a bid to host the Asian Games in 2030.

President Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria says it's about time Malaysia considers the idea, since our neighbours Thailand and Indonesia have hosted the games in the past.

Thailand, along with India, South Korea, the Philippines and Uzbekistan, are also said to be interested in hosting the 2030 edition of the Asian Games.

Chong Wei may yet miss Malaysian Open

National badminton ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei remains a doubt for the Malaysian Open next month.

The BAM says his doctor has yet to give him the green light, and a final decision is expected to be made next week.

12-time Malaysian Open champion Chong Wei, who is now unseeded, has been out of action for eight months, after undergoing nose cancer treatment last year.
