Juventus and Manchester City through to Champions League quarters

Mar 13, 2019

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored yet another Champions League hat-trick, as Juventus beat Atletico Madrid 3-nil in the second of their last-16 tie in Turin this morning.

The hosts were down 2-nil from the first leg, before the Portuguese star struck three times, including once from the penalty spot, to seal the win for Juve and power them into the quarterfinals 3-2 on aggregate.

Ronaldo has now equalled Lionel Messi's record of eight Champions League hat-tricks.

Manchester City have also advanced to the last-8, after a 7-nil thrashing of German side Schalke at the Etihad.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring with a brace in the one-sided affair, followed by goals from Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus, to ensure that City progress 10-2 on aggregate.
