Jun Hoong won't be heading to Jakarta

Aug 03, 2018

National diver, Cheong Jun Hoong has withdrawn from the upcoming Asian Games due to a serious knee injury.

Amateur Swimming Association of Malaysia's secretary general, Mae Chen reveals she may have to undergo an operation.

Mae Chen also conceded that Jun Hoong's withdrawal is a big hit to the national squad, but the athlete's well-being must be prioritised.

Jun Hoong, who picked up the problem two weeks ago, was expected to take part in the individual 10m platform, and partner Pandelela Rinong in the 10m platform synchro.
