Italian, Spanish footballers want European matches postponed

Mar 11, 2020

Football players unions in Italy and Spain want the upcoming Champions League and Europa League matches in their respective countries to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

This includes next week's Champions League clash between Barcelona and Napoli, as well as Europa League matches featuring Inter Milan against Getafe, and Roma versus Sevilla.

Meanwhile, Wolves have condemned Uefa's decision to go ahead with the team's Europa League clash against Olympiakos on Friday morning.

This, after Olympiakos's owner said he tested positive for the coronavirus.

However, the match will take place behind closed doors.

Msian men's singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia has stunned 6th seed Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the opening round of the All England badminton Championship.

If he gets past the 2nd round, he faces a potential quarterfinal clash against either Lin Dan or Chen Long.

Meanwhile, Mixed Doubles pair Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Lai have crashed out.

The Red Bull F1 team says it will lodge an official protest, if rivals Mercedes use their unique new "dual-axis steering" system at this weekend's Australian GP.

They claim that it goes against existing rules.

Under the system, Mercedes drivers can pull or push their steering wheels to adjust the angle of their front tyres, to give their cars better stability when cornering.
