Hat trick for Mohd Ridzuan Puzi !

National athlete Mohd Ridzuan Puzi picked up his third gold medal at the Asian Para Games in Indonesia yesterday.

He won the T36 long jump event, to add on to the golds he won in the 100 and 400 metres races respectively.

Ridzuan Puzi's jump of 5.49 metres is also a new Asian record.

Malaysia's other golds yesterday came from the 3km women's cycling individual pursuit, the Mix Trios Team bowling event and the men's swimming 50m free style.

The national contingent are currently in 8th place on the medals standings with 13 gold, and are edging closer to their target of 15 gold medals.

Results:

In selected international friendlies this morning: world champions France narrowly avoided defeat to Iceland, fighting from two goals down to secure a 2-all draw at home.

Kylian Mbappe was the saviour for the French, netting a late equaliser from the penalty spot.

Elsewhere, Wales went down 4-1 to Spain. 

Over at the UEFA Nations League: Portugal edged Poland 3-2, while Russia and Sweden played out a goalless draw.
