Hamilton claims pole position for Azerbaijan F1 GP
Jun 25, 2017
Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has claimed the 66th pole position of his career, at the Azerbaijan F1 Grand Prix.
The 3-time world champion is now 2nd in F1's all-time standings, only 2 short of Michael Schumacher's record.
Meanwhile, Hamilton's Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas will start 2nd in Azerbaijan, ahead of Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel.
Earlier, McLaren's Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne dropped out of qualifying, as they had already known they would be starting at the back of the grid, due to engine penalties.
