Foxes dent Spurs' Premiership title hopes

Leicester City are up to second in the Premiership standings after beating Tottenham 2-0 in London.

Jamie Vardy was responsible for both the Foxes’ goals…scoring the first from the penalty spot and heading in the second which deflected off a Spurs player.
This is the second successive defeat for Tottenham, leaving the former leaders fifth in the standings.

Meanwhile, Man United moved into third after thrashing Leeds 6-2 at Old Trafford.
Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes both netted a brace, while Victor Lindeloff and Daniel James also got on the scoresheet for the home side.
Arteta gets the club’s backing
The board of directors at Arsenal are reportedly keeping the faith in manager Mikel Arteta, despite the team’s poor results this season.
Rather than sack him, bosses are instead planning to offer him funds to bring in reinforcements when the transfer window opens next month.

It comes with the Gunners sitting 15th in the Premiership standings, having lost eight of their last 14 games.
Hamilton wins BBC honour

F1 star Lewis Hamilton has won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
He was honoured for his achievement of winning his seventh world title this season – equaling the record set by the great Michael Schumacher.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson came in second in the public vote.
Ending the year on a high
Malaysian track cyclists Azizulhasni Awang and Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom have made the podium in the Keirin event at the Australia National Track Cycling Championships.
Azizul took the gold medal, while Shah Firdaus came in third – to end 2020 on a high for the Olympics-bound duo.
