Ex-Olympic swimming champ can compete at Rio Olympics

Jul 08, 2016

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has cleared the way for ex-Olympic swimming champ, Park Tae-hwan to compete at this year's Rio Olympics in Brazil.

This after they upheld his appeal against a Korean Olympic Committee doping ban.

The South Korean had earlier completed an 18-month ban imposed by world governing body FINA in March after testing positive for testosterone.

However, as per KOC regulations, he was subject to an additional ban of 3 years from the Korean national team, the day the FINA suspension expired.
