Euro 2016 teams name their final 23-man squads

Jun 01, 2016

Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater has expressed his disapointment on missing out on a place in the England squad for Euro 2016.

Drinkwater played a key role in the Foxes' Premier League title-winning season, and his omission is a huge surprise for English fans.

Meanwhile, strikers Marcus Rashford and Daniel Sturridge made Roy Hodgson's final 23-man squad.

Over in Italy, 3 Premier League based players were named in the squad, namely Angelo Ogbonna from West Ham, Man United's Matteo Darmian and Graziano Pelle from Southampton.

However, there was heartbreak for AC Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo, who missed out on his second straight major tournament due to injury.

This, as Spain left out Isco, but Real Madrid teammate Lucas Vazquez is in, despite having never played for the senior squad.

Elsewhere, 35-year old veteran striker Robbie Keane has been included in the Republic of Ireland squad despite concerns over his fitness.

And hosts France have called up Man United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to replace the injured Lassana Diarra.
