England to try out Video Assistant Referee System
Nov 08, 2017
The English FA will try out the Video Assistant Referee system, when the Three Lions host Germany in a friendly this weekend.
The system involves assistant referees watching the action remotely, who will alert the match official to any mistakes or missed incidents.
Matches between England and Germany have seen several controversial decisions in the past, most notably Frank Lampard's disallowed goal at the 2010 World Cup, and Geoff Hursts goal in the 1966 World Cup final.
