England skipper has no intention of retiring

Oct 12, 2016

England skipper Wayne Rooney insists he has no intention of retiring, despite being axed from the starting line up of his country, and club.

The 30-year old says he believes he can still contribute at the highest level, pointing to Welsh icon Ryan Giggs as inspiration.

Rooney was dropped by Man United boss Jose Mourinho prior to the international break, and was also benched for the World Cup qualifier against Slovenia this morning, which ended in a goalless draw.
