England confirms Jack Butland is out of Euro 2016

England have confirmed that goalkeeper Jack Butland broke his ankle in the recent win over Germany and will miss the European Championship in France this summer.
The FA said 3-Lions boss Roy Hodgson will not pick Butland for Euro 2016 because the expected recovery period for such an injury is three months, which means the stopper would only be able to play in the latter part of the tournament.
Butland will not play again for Stoke this season.
