Djokovic beats Federer to win fifth Wimbledon title
Jul 15, 2019
Novak Djokovic has retained his title at Wimbledon, beating Roger Federer in an epic five-set thriller.
The Serbian saved two championship points to eventually win in just under five hours, for his fifth victory overall.
Djokovic admits he was pushed to his limits.
"It was probably the most mentally demanding match I was ever part of. I was one shot away from losing the match. This match had everything, and it could have gone easily his way."
As for Federer, the result ends his quest for a record-equalling ninth Wimbledon title, for this year at least.
