15-year old Chinese diver Ren Qian took the gold.
Meanwhile, Malaysian golfers Kelly Tan dan Michelle Koh sit in 50th and 52nd places respectively after Round 2 in Rio.
In other Olympic highlights, Jamaica kept Usain Bolt's quest for his "triple triple" gold medal haul alive by qualifying for the final of the 4x100 meters relay.
Bolt rested for the qualifier as his teammates finished 2nd in their heat behind Japan, who won in an Asian record of 37.68 seconds.
This, as the US won the men's 400-meters hurdles in Athletics.
The US have also qualified for the women's 4x100 metres final, after a re-run following a baton drop when Alyson Felix was bumped by a Brazilian athlete in the qualifier.
Great Britain's Alistair Brownlee won gold in the triathlon event.
Argentina won the men's hockey gold for the first time, with a 4-2 victory over Belgium.
Japanese shuttlers beat Denmark for the women's doubles title.
Speaking of badminton, Datuk Lee Chong Wei will face Lin Dan in the men's semifinal tonight at 7.30pm, before Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong go for gold in the men's doubles.
