Datuk Lee Chong Wei breaks world record

Sep 25, 2017

Datuk Lee Chong Wei broke the world record for the fastest men's singles smash in badminton, during yesterday's Japan Open Final.

He recorded a smash of 417 kilometers per hour, outdoing the previous record of 408 kilometers per hour, which was set by Chong Wei as well 2 years ago.

Meanwhile, Viktor Axelsen, who beat Chong Wei in the final, is set to be crowned world number one when the BWF rankings are released this Thursday.

The 23-year-old will overtake Korean Son Wan Ho, to become the first European to top the rankings in over a decade.
