Daniel Ricciardo set for McLaren move

May 14, 2020

Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo is reportedly on the verge of signing for McLaren, with the move set to be confirmed once Ferrari finalises its deal for Carlos Sainz to replace Sebastian Vettel.

Talks to seal the two moves are ongoing and no final agreements have been reached, but they are expected to be concluded and announced this week.

It’s understood the only hold up in the two announcements being made is that McLaren must formally release Sainz from his contractual obligations, before they can announce Ricciardo as his replacement.

Meanwhile, Vettel and Fernando Alonso are said to be in the running for the Renault seat.

Serie A sets targeted resumption date

Serie A clubs have voted to resume the season on June 13th, pending approval from the Italian government.

It’s understood that this would give Italian clubs enough time to finish off both the Serie A season and the Coppa Italia, before UEFA's cut-off point on August 2nd.

There are 12 full rounds and four outstanding fixtures still to play, with Juventus topping the table one point ahead of Lazio.

Teams have been allowed to resume GROUP training on Monday.

At least 19 Serie A players have tested positive for COVID-19, since the league was suspended on March 9th.

Italy has been one of the countries worst affected by the virus, with over 78 thousand cases still active.
