Badminton World Federation members asked to try out new scoring format

Sep 08, 2016

The Badminton World Federation has sent a directive to all their members to try out 2 different versions of the 11-point best-of-five-game scoring format.

Under the first option, if the score is tied at 10-10, the first player to get a two-point lead wins, but if they are tied at 14-14, the one who reaches 15 points first is the winner.

Under the second option, if the score is tied at 10-all, a three-point tie-breaker is played with the one to score the first three points will win the game.
