BAM introduces new format for national meet

The Badminton Association of Malaysia has introduced a new format for the national meet to attract more shuttlers.
The national championships has always received a lukewarm response from Malaysia's best players so it always clashed with the Badminton World Federation.
As such, BAM has replaced the usual 2 circuits and GP finals with a qualification tournament and main championship, and significantly increased the prize money.
It will also introduce a 4th international tournament called the "Malaysian International Series" next year to enable up-and-coming players to gain ranking points.
