BAM hands lifeline to dropped trio

Women's singles shuttler Soniia Cheah, and mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Lai have been given a lifeline in their bid to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
This, after the trio were dropped from the national squad.
The BAM chief told the Star, the association has decided to fund their trip to Europe next month, to compete at the Swiss and German Opens.
BAM will continue to support them if they qualify for the Olympics.

Tokyo Games Organising Committee chief steps down
The Tokyo Olympics organising committee chief, Yoshiro Mori has reportedly stepped down over his recent sexist remarks against women.
The comments, which were made at an Olympic Committee board meeting earlier this month drew condemnation both in Japan and globally.
Ther remarks also prompted hundreds of Olympic volunteers to quit.

Swansea player suffers racist attacks after Man City defeat
Swansea have lodged a police report against social media users who racially abused midfielder Yan Dhanda following their FA Cup loss to Man City.
Dhanda, who is of British Asian background, is the latest footballer to be hounded by racist attacks.
Manchester United players Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Axel Tuanzebe suffered similar abuse over the past two weeks.
