Arsenal picked up their first piece of silverware for the new season with a penalty shootout victory over Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had given the Gunners an early lead, only for the Reds to respond thru Takumi Minamino to make it 1-1 after regulation time.

The match then went to spot kicks, with Arsenal eventually winning 5-4.

This is the second year in a row that Liverpool have lost on penalties in the Community Shield, having gone down to Man City last season.
