Arsenal suffer heavy Champions League defeat
Mar 08, 2017
Arsenal have crashed out of the Champions League after being hammered 5-1 by Bayern Munich in this morning's last-16 second leg tie, for a 10-2 aggregate defeat.
Theo Walcott gave the Gunners a 1-nil lead at half time, but their campaign fell apart after the break.
They were reduced to 10 men after Laurent Koscielny was handed a straight red for a foul on Robert Lewandowski, and went on to concede 5 goals in 30 minutes.
The result will do little to appease disgruntled Gunners fans, who staged a protest against boss Arsene Wenger before the match started.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid advanced to the quarterfinals after beating Napoli 3-1 in Naples this morning.
A Sergio Ramos brace, and a late Alvaro Morata goal handed Real a 6-2 aggregate victory.
