Oct 31, 2025

ministry wants action against online abusers

The Youth and Sports Minister is calling for stern action to be taken against those who send abusive or threatening messages to our badminton players on social media.

She says that while professional athletes need to expect some degree of criticism from the public…several of the recent comments directed at them clearly crossed the line.

This, after some social media users – believed to be using fake accounts – targeted and issued threats against our national shuttlers.

Barcelona are not giving up on trying to sign Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.

Sources say the Catalan side is planning ahead for when veteran striker Robert Lewandowski decides to leave.

Any potential deal, however, will depend on Barca’s financial situation, with Galatasaray likely to demand around 70 million euros for the Nigeria international.

Juventus have appointed former Italy head coach Luciano Spalleti as their new manager until the end of the season.

He replaces Igor Tudor, who was sacked after Juve’s defeat by Lazio earlier this week.

-

The IOC has cancelled a deal with Saudi Arabia to hold the first ever Esports Olympics…which was supposed to take place in 2027.

The Saudi’s however, are still going ahead with plans to start an Esports Nations Cup next year, allowing contenders to compete under their national flags.
