Man United Hope For Positive Year-End

Dec 30, 2024

man united hope for positive year-end

Man United will try to end a difficult year on a positive note, when they host Newcastle in the Premier League tomorrow morning.

A win for United will lift them up to 11th in the standings.

However, it'll be tough as they are up against an in-form Newcastle team who are in 7th place, having won three matches in a row.

--

Meanwhile Chelsea will be gunning for a win away at Ipswich, to ensure they end 2024 in second place.

They are coming off the back of their 2-1 Boxing Day defeat to Fulham, which left them 10 points off leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand.

--

Mo Salah has told Liverpool fans he's still not close to signing a contract extension.

His current deal expires at the end of the season, meaning that later this week he will be free to start negotiations with clubs outside of England.

--

Meanwhile, Spanish reports claim that Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is close to reaching a deal to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

This, as he continues to reject new offers to extend his Anfield contract, which expires in the summer.

--

And chess legend Magnus Carlsen has announced that he will return to compete in a tournament in New York.

This comes days after he quit the competition after being penalised for a dress code violation, because he was wearing jeans!
