Euro 2024: Holders Italy knocked out

Switzerland have pulled off a major upset at Euro 2024 with a 2-0 win over holders Italy in the last-16.

The Swiss, who dominated most of the game, now await the winners of tomorrow’s tie between England and Slovakia.

Meanwhile, hosts Germany booked their place in the quarterfinals, with a 2-0 victory over Denmark.

The Germans will next face either Spain or Georgia.

In this morning’s Copa America results…Lautaro Martinez scored twice as holders Argentina beat Peru 2-0 to maintain their 100 percent record.

While Canada and Chile played out a goalless draw.

Back home…in FA Cup quarterfinal first-leg action…Kuching City beat Selangor FC 2-1.

While JDT thrashed Malaysia University 5-0.

National diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri has secured a place at the Paris Olympics.

She got in via an unused quota slot given by World Aquatics for the 3m individual springboard event.

She joins fellow Malaysian Bertrand Rhodict  - who had earlier qualified for the men’s 10m platform event on merit.
