Portugal, Poland secure their World Cup places

Portugal have booked their place at the 2022 World Cup.
They defeated North Macedonia 2-0 in their playoff final in Porto this morning, with both goals coming from Bruno Fernandes.
This will be Portugal’s sixth World Cup appearance in a row, and potentially their last with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Robert Lewandowski has guided Poland to the 2022 World Cup.
The captain scored the opening goal in their 2-0 win over Sweden in their playoff final this morning, before Piotr Zielinski sealed the win in the 72nd minute.

Senegal are through to the World Cup after a 3-1 penalty shootout win over Egypt.
The tie was level at 1-all on aggregate at the end of extra-time.
Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty...while his Liverpool teammate Mo Salah missed his spot kick for the Egyptians.
Ghana, Tunisia, Cameroon and Morocco are the other teams to qualify from the African region.

Olivier Giroud is closing in on the all-time goalscoring record for France.
The striker netted one of the goals in their 5-nil friendly win over South Africa...taking his overall tally for the national team to 48.
This is just three short of Thierry Henry's France record of 51 goals.
