Next year’s SEA Games in Thailand could offer a record number of gold medals.

This, after the number of events contested was increased to 585 from 50 different sports.

The Olympic Council of Malaysia says this was brought up during a virtual meeting with the organisers last week.

It adds that the changes will effect sports such as gymnastics, cycling, e-sports, pencak silat and judo.

Still on our athletes… the Malaysian Silamban team has won a total of 12 gold medals at the Asian Silamban Championships in Qatar, which was enough for them to be crowned overall champions.

Tottenham will be hoping to avoid a third straight Premier League defeat, when they take on Wolves tonight.

However, it will be an uphill battle for Spurs, who have virtually no fit central defenders amid an injury crisis.

Meanwhile, leaders Liverpool will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings when they travel to face West Ham tomorrow morning.
