Alonso Unveiled As Real Madrid Boss

Xabi Alonso has been officially unveiled as Real Madrid’s new manager.

The former Bayer Leverkusen boss returns to the Spanish giants 11 years after leaving as a player.

Alonso takes over from Carlo Ancelotti, who himself was officially announced as the new head coach of the Brazil national team.

Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag has signed a two-year contract to take over from Alonso as Leverkusen’s new manager.

It is his first managerial job since leaving Man United last October.

Separately, Real’s Kylian Mbappe has won the European Golden Shoe as the continent’s top striker.

The Frenchman scored 31 league goals in his debut season in Spain, and also finished as La Liga’s top scorer.

Reports say organisers will seek approval from the Thai Cabinet next week, to host an F1 street race in Bangkok in 2028.

It will be Thailand’s first venture into Formula One…although the country already has experience hosting MotoGP races.

And, Naomi Osaka has made an early exit from the French Tennis Open, after a first-round loss to Paula Badosa.

The four-time Grand Slam champion has never made it past the third round at Rolland Garros.
