Man City are through to the EFL Cup fourth round, after a 2-1 win over Watford.

City made nine changes to the squad that faced Arsenal in the league on Sunday, and gave a senior debut to 16-year-old defender Kaden Braithwaite, who became the youngest player to feature under Pep Guardiola.

In other selected EFL Cup results…Chelsea thrashed Barrow 5-0.

While Aston Villa had a 2-1 win over Wycombe.

Elsewhere, Kylian Mbappe scored in his fifth consecutive match as Real Madrid recorded a 3-2 La Liga win over Alaves.

The match was also Carlo Ancelotti’s 300th game in charge of the Spanish giants in all competitions.

Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin have moved up four places to eighth in the latest badminton men’s doubles world rankings following their recent victory at the China Open.

Compatriots Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik remained in fifth…Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai climbed two spots to 10th in  the mixed-doubles rankings…while singles ace Lee Zii Jia dropped two places to fifth.

777th-ranked Marin Cilic has won the Hangzhou tennis Open becoming the lowest ranking player to win an ATP Tour title.

The 36-year-old former US Open champion has spent most of the last two years out with a knee injury.
