Ronaldo still has a place in Man United team

Aug 24, 2022

ronaldo still has a place in man united team

Cristiano Ronaldo still features in the plans of Man United boss Erik Ten Hag.

This, despite the Portuguese superstar being dropped from the starting lineup for yesterday’s match against Liverpool…where the Red Devils went on to post an impressive win.

Ten Hag, however, still believes Ronaldo can fit into United’s new style of play.

He also says dropping Harry Maguire for the Liverpool game was a tactical decision, adding that the defender remains an option for other matches.

Leicester City have rejected a third bid by Chelsea to sign defender Wesley Fofana.

The Blues’ latest offer is believed to be in the region of 70 million pounds.

Earlier reports had claimed the Foxes would only be willing to consider a sale, if Chelsea offered 80 million – which is a world record fee for a defender.

-

Separately, West Ham have completed the signing of defender Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea.

The Italian spent the last season out on loan at Lyon…having struggled to lock down a regular place at Stamford Bridge.

-

Elsewhere, Portuguese side Benfica have made the group stage of the Champions League…after beating Dynamo Kiev 3-0 this morning and 5-0 on aggregate in their qualifier.

Maccabi Haifa and Plzen were the other teams who booked their group stage places this morning.
