More rewards await Malaysia’s gold medalists at the Paris Paralympics.

The Malaysian Paralympic Council says private companies have offered a further 60 thousand ringgit incentive for successful athletes.

President Datuk Seri Megat Shahriman says they’re also negotiating for our gold medallists to be given a car.

All this is on top of the one million ringgit reward for a gold medal, under the official Sports Victory Prize Scheme.

Perlis weightlifter Muhammad Hafizuddin Roslin has broken the national record en-route to winning gold in the men’s 81kg category at SUKMA 2024.

His total of 332 kilograms was 17kg’s more than the previous best mark.

Terengganu are off to a poor start in the ASEAN Club Championship, going down 3-2 to Cambodian side Svay Rieng in their Group A opener.

Elsewhere…Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 38.

Separately, another World Cup-winning keeper – Emi Martinez has signed a new long-term contract to remain with Aston Villa until 2029.
