2 Malaysian reps in semis of Japan Badminton Open

National men's singles shuttler, Datuk Lee Chong Wei has reached the semifinals of the Japan Badminton Open after defeating Shi Yu Qi of China 21-12, 21-12.

Chong Wei's opponent in the last 4 is German, Marc Zwiebler.

Also sealing their spots in the semis are Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying who defeated a Korean pair in straight sets in the mixed doubles event.

However, women's doubles reps Vivian Hoo/Woon Khe Wei, who are seeded 8th, lost their quarterfinal match to a Dutch pair, seeded second.
