Dec 10, 2019
The Malaysian contingent recorded its best ever single-day haul at the SEA Games in the Philippines, winning 11 gold medals on day nine of competition.
The badminton team were particularly impressive, contributing three gold medals thru S Kisona and Lee Zii Jia in the women's and men's singles, as well as Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik in the men's doubles.
This is the first time since 1973 that we've won both the men's and women's singles, and the first time in 16 years that Malaysian shuttlers won the men's doubles gold.
The other golds yesterday came from archery, swimming, athletics, karate, squash and e-sports.
We also picked up a further five silvers and two bronze.
It brings our overall tally to 51 gold, 52 silver and 67 bronze medals.
