PM Sends Well Wishes To SEA Games Squad

Dec 09, 2025

pm sends well wishes to sea games squad

The PM has extended his well wishes to our athletes competing at this year's SEA Games in Thailand.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants them to compete with full focus, calmness, and confidence.

He adds that they have the prayers of all Malaysians.

Meanwhile, our SEA Games Chef de Mission has urged all Malaysians to show their support to our contingent.

Nurul Huda Abdullah also assured us that the team will compete with integrity and give everything they have to bring glory to the country.

Malaysia has sent over 1,100 athletes to compete in this year's competition – our biggest-ever SEA Games contingent.

They have set a target to win 200 medals overall, but there are no specific gold medal targets.

So far, Malaysia have already secured bronze in the women's badminton team event, while our men's team will be fighting for gold tomorrow.

Our karate squad has just arrived in Bangkok, ahead of the start of their events on Thursday.

We won 4 karate gold medals in the previous edition in 2023, in the men's and women's kumite.

--

Meanwhile, the SEA Games opening ceremony is taking place tonight!

Triple jump athlete Andre Anura Anuar and water skier Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah will be our flag-bearers.
