The Netherlands extend their unbeaten run

The Netherlands have now gone 11 games unbeaten under manager Louis Van Gaal.

They extended their run with a 2-1 win over Wales in the Nations League this morning…to move them top of their group.

In other results…Belgium thrashed Poland 6-1, Scotland overcame Armenia 2-0, while Ukraine edged past the Republic of Ireland 1-0.

Malaysia are off to a flying start in the Asian Cup qualifiers, after a 3-1 win over Turkmenistan in their opening Group E tie.

Another group match saw Bahrain beat Bangladesh 2-0.

Liverpool have rejected Bayern Munich’s latest offer to sign striker Sadio Mane.

The German club had put in an improved offer of 30 million pounds…five million more than their last bid.

The Reds, however, are believed to be holding out for a fee of around 43 million…which is similar to what Bayern are asking for their own wantaway striker Robert Lewandowski.

Luka Modric has signed a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid.

The Croatia international has been with the La Liga giants since 2012, winning five Champions League titles along the way.
