Liverpool Continue Their European Advance

Liverpool have one foot in the Europa League quarterfinals...after a comfortable 5-1 away victory over Sparta Prague in the first leg of the last-16.  

Other first leg results saw 

Roma thrash Brighton 4-0.  

AC Milan beat Slavia Prague 4-2.  

Benfica and Rangers settled for a 2-2 draw. 

While Freiburg defeated West Ham 1-0.

Meanwhile in the Europa Conference League, Aston Villa and Ajax played out a goalless draw in the first leg of their last-16 tie.

Elsewhere, Joao Cancelo is reportedly keen to remain with Barcelona after this season.  

The Man City defender is currently on loan with the Catalan giants, where he’s enjoying a good run of form.

National shuttlers Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik are through to the quarterfinals of the French Badminton Open after defeating their opponents from Chinese Taipei. 

They’re our last remaining competitors left in the tournament, after two other Malaysian reps lost their respective second round matches yesterday.
