Pearly and Thinaah are Swiss Open champs

Malaysia’s Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah have been crowned Swiss Badminton Open champions.
The young pair pulled off an upset win over their third seeded opponents from Bulgaria in the final of the women’s doubles event.
This is Pearly and Thinaah’s first major BWF title…and they are the first Malaysians to win a title at the Swiss Open since 2009.

Man City’s impressive 21-game winning streak in all competitions has come to an end, after they fell to a 2-0 EPL defeat to Man United at the Etihad.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with an early penalty before Luke Shaw secured the win in the second half.

The result leaves the Red Devils 11 points behind leaders City in the race for the Premiership title.
Elsewhere, Liverpool suffered their sixth straight league defeat at Anfield, losing 1-0 to relegation strugglers Fulham.

The reigning champions have also yet to score a goal in open play at home this calendar year.
While Tottenham moved to within two points of the top four after thrashing Crystal Palace 4-1.

Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has been elected to the post again, after the club concluded its latest presidential election.
Laporta, who previously at the helm between 2003 and 2010 says his immediate priority is ensuring that Lionel Messi remains at the club.
